Doctor and nurse. They are supposed to take care of patients. There are, however, too many patients. They may lose their soul in the eyes of nurses and doctors. Do they become no more than dolls? Doctor and the man in the forest must have their routine already memorized by heart. They cared about their patients, but do they still care after all those years? Sometimes routine makes you forget the meaning of the actual work (to REPAIR what was broken)
Trees.
They do not have soul.
Or that is at least what I believe in.
They do not necessarily need help from us.
Nevertheless, the man is taking care of them. Why.
When we cut the tree will it grow again? Will it grow its twig again?
Does the loss of the limb imply that one is incomplete? I think not. Cyborgs.
If that is the case - what makes a human being? Is it your brain? Soul? Conventions?
A: Are you a human?
B: They say I am ....

In past if you wanted your car to start running you needed to turn the wheel/bar in the front. You can see people waiting for somebody to start moving the bar. Then they are imitating the circular motion. The car starts. People are happy and jumping - even on the car. You cannot do that now without getting into trouble (or maybe if you can ran fast...). The scene is very ceremonial - almost like childbirth.
Artist and creation. The machine (to function) depends on the man because it was CREATED by him. Though it will sooner or later deteriorate. Painter and the picture are in a resembling relationship. The artwork would not exist without the artist, but it will be damaged by time - no matter how much care will be involved. OR maybe deteriorate is not really a good word. It will CHANGE (unless you are Dorian, of course).
